The last month has been busy at the stadium, with a variety of sporting events that brought together community groups, schools, and local associations. Here’s a look back at what took place.
One Day Basketball Tournament
The Sydney Ballers Filos hosted a one day basketball tournament at Oran Park Stadium, bringing together their community known as the PBA Originals. Their focus is on promoting health, fitness and unity across all ages and cultural backgrounds. Through events like family days, tournaments and holiday parties, they aim to provide a positive outlet and a break from the day-to-day routine. It was a pleasure to host this event and support their mission. We look forward to welcoming them back.
Catholic Schools Basketball Gala Day
Four Catholic schools came together for a two day Gala Day organised by Diocesan Sport. Each team played five games per day, with players rotating regularly to ensure everyone received equal court time. The event was non-competitive, with no scores or finals, to give students the chance to enjoy playing basketball in a game setting-many for the first time. The focus was on participation, inclusion and fun.
Westside Volleyball Tournament
Westside Volleyball Association held its final tournament of the year at the stadium. Men’s, women’s and mixed teams all competed throughout the day, highlighting the diversity of the association’s player base since making our venue their home ground. With the representative season now wrapped up, players are looking forward to a short break before their local competition resumes in the coming weeks.
We thank all event organisers, participants and supporters who contributed to a successful month. It’s always a privilege to host events that foster community, participation and a love for sport!
