Leading with Heart at Oran Park Leisure Centre
Aaliya Yaman’s career with BlueFit spans over eight years and reflects a steady, inspiring progression from trainee to Facility Manager. Starting in 2017 as part of the LEA traineeship program, she gained hands on experience as a lifeguard and swim teacher, building the foundation for her future in aquatic facility management.
Now the Facility Manager at Oran Park Leisure Centre, Aaliya is responsible for overseeing daily operations, leading a dynamic team, and ensuring smooth, customer focused service delivery. Her strengths lie in operational management, leadership, and cultivating a positive, inclusive environment for both staff and the community.
While she manages the full spectrum of responsibilities that come with running a leisure facility, Aaliya is especially passionate about supporting staff development and enjoys seeing team members grow into their roles and take on new challenges. Moments where staff gain confidence, improve their skills, and step up in new ways are highlights of her role.
Outside of work, Aaliya enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and exploring new food experiences. She considers herself a foodie and embraces any opportunity to discover local and global cuisines.
Aaliya also has a strong appreciation for the Oran Park community. The area’s close knit feel and supportive local spirit align with her approach to leadership and customer engagement, making it a natural fit for her role at the centre.
