Camden ASC Makes History at MASCA Carnival

Camden Amateur Swimming Club (ASC) made history at this year’s Mount Annan Swimming Club Annual Carnival, claiming the Marsdens Law Shield for the first time since the event began in the 1970s.

The carnival, originally known as the Fielders Shield, started as a friendly competition between Camden, Campbelltown, and Macquarie Fields. Over the years, additional clubs joined, including Airds (later Macarthur Indoor), Picton, Mount Annan, Atlantis, Narellan All Stars, and Holsworthy, establishing MASCA as one of the region’s most prestigious community swim meets.

Camden ASC delivered outstanding performances, with swimmers achieving personal bests across multiple events. Coaches, parents, and volunteers played a key role in supporting the athletes throughout the day, ensuring the smooth running of the carnival.

After decades of competition, Camden ASC finally secured the top spot, bringing the historic shield home and marking a milestone moment for the club.
